What is "Yoga with Mummy"?
We provide a 1 hour session of yoga, an opportunity for a parent or carer to bring along their child to experience yoga movements and meditation together.
A space that welcomes natural sounds that children make as well as stop-and-start class interaction should your child need a feed or a nappy change.
A dynamic environment to build a bond with your child and other parents in a calming and understanding atmosphere whilst benefiting from the physical and mental effects of Yoga.
A place to teach by example and bring a holistic vibe into your week!
How long does each class last?
Would I need to bring my own yoga equipment?
You do need a yoga mat and a blanket for your child to sit/lie on. If you don't have one there are a limited number available to use. please let us know in advance you need one.
The Hall has laminate flooring as well as under floor heating.
Can I bring my baby at any age? As they get older, do they join in?
Mamas and babies are welcome from 3 months postpartum.
Yes, your baby can join in some moves/asanas and older children can join in if they wish to.
Would I need to wait for the next term to start?
You can start any time.
What is the cost?
We charge £10 drop-in per session. We also run a discount for those who want to buy block of 6 sessions, which can be used during 8 weeks from the date of purchase. It is charged at £42 per block, making it £7 per session.
Is it run Term Time only?
No, we are running every Thursday including half terms and school holidays.
What kind of music do you play during the class?
The music is varied but the aim is to create an environment which positively impacts young children.
What type of exercises/moves will be included in the session?
Each session is adjusted to fit around the participants of the class typically involving :
Postnatal moves and postures to benefit the pelvic and abdominal area
Arm movements to help strengthen and release tension in the muscles used to hold/rock baby.
Exercises to help relieve tension in the shoulder and neck area between the blades
Each lesson will be taught with a general theme such as “electromagnetic field and the heart centre” or “for lower spine and pain elimination” or “for the glands the circulation and the meditative mind” .
There will be some generic movement exercises that aid better flexibility of the spine. “Our age is measured by the flexibility of the spine”.
We always conclude lessons with a long relaxation time to help the body integrate the work it has done.
